• Biography

  Labeled Avius, he is the fourth of alchemical homunculi created to acquire vital information and eliminate targets assigned to it. Avius was created with the appearance of a harmless male child in mind. He is also the first to use a new kind of power source that is much more efficient than the massive magics originally used in the first three types to animate the bodies and give it semi-sentience. A blackened gemstone used to house the souls of beings within it. Once captured provided a near unlimited source to draw from. The stronger the soul bound to it, the stronger the gemstone became, making it almost indestructible unless drained immediately as a catalyst within extremely powerful spells. The gemstone also has the side effect of cause those with the ability to read soul auras, and feel life, regard it as multiple living beings.
  
  The skeletal body is designed to be very dense, making it strong and durable but also very heavy. This pushes his body weight much higher than his size and body type should make him be. Even though it isn't completely solid, and instead houses a few bladed mechanisms, it doesn't remove from the weight. Real flesh and muscular tissue is used, harvested from corpses, as well as working organs. He can eat food, but he does not need to, likewise he can breath if desired but does not need to. His heartbeat is a side effect of the gem being housed in the heart itself, animating it. With the magics and the gemstone keeping his flesh animated, he can bleed if 'injured' however it isn't enough to make one who has seen major injuries think he can bleed to death. His eyes have a strange light of life behind them, proving he is somewhat odd in terms of other children. Though he cannot properly give expressions and ends up having a dark gaze as result.
  
  While he doesn't have a brain, he does have a second core inside his head, an orb made of quicksilver branded with layers upon layers of complex runic enchants, designed to house all the commands and 'memories' received. The essentially giving him everything he needs to be both a real boy and a useful tool. There he learned all the mannerisms of a child, general knowledge, and the use of weapons embedded in his body as well as weapons used in the world. He would simply use the harmless appearance he had to gain entry and complete the task needed of him.
  
  No one would suspect a child, especially one made to be as normal as possible. But nothing is without its flaws, and Avius was not given much time to grow and develop the mind. Either he wasn't quiet enough, or he couldn't fool someone well enough. Whatever the case may be, he failed in a task and ended up being damaged. His core gemstone cracked, and the second core orb in his head was also damaged, causing him to forget nearly everything. He no longer acted like a real child, and had trouble acting like a living being. He forgot how to use most of the weapons and tools, as well as other useful espionage tactics. In short he was pretty much turned into a blank slate and needed to relearn everything. This was not pleasing to his creators, they decided that he was a failure and needed to be destroyed so they could start over. But the crack in his gemstone had some odd side effects. More of the trapped soul was seeping out, bringing forth a kind of awareness that caused him to have a base desire to live. And so this basic instinct of self preservation moved him to escape, but not without more damage done in the process. All that was left was fragments of his former self with the instincts of self preservation and his given name Avius.
